Nadav Assor

Nadav Assor (b. 1979, U.S./Israel, lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island) holds Full Merit MFA in Art & Technology from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Assor’s work explores ways in which military-industrial systems of technological mediation, from eye-tracking cameras to drones to telepresence-robots, can be critically repurposed to function as a means for creating communities, connections, and intimate human dialog. Assor’s videos, installations and performances have been featured in film festivals, museums, galleries, and live venues across North America, Europe, and Asia. Recent venues include iDocs UK, the Oberhausen Film Festival, Video Vortex XI at Kochi-Muziris, India, Hong-Gah Museum Taipei, La Casa Encendida in Madrid, Transmediale Festival Berlin, and Julie M Gallery, Tel Aviv.  Assor's work has been reviewed in publications such as Artforum, Vice Motherboard, Art Monthly UK and Haaretz. He teaches and is an associate director of the Ammerman Center for Arts & Technology at Connecticut College in the US.
