Chelsea Knight

Chelsea Knight (b. 1976 in Vermont, lives and works in New York) holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a BA from Oberlin College. Knight completed residencies at the Whitney Independent Study Program and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and was a Fulbright Fellow in Italy. Solo exhibitions and performances include: the New Museum, NY (2015), The St. Louis Art Museum, MO (2012), The Brooklyn Museum, NY (2012), Aspect Ratio Gallery, Chicago, IL (2013), Momenta Art, NY (2012), DiverseWorks, Houston, TX (2015), and Julius Caesar Gallery, Chicago, IL (2009). Knight has exhibited and screened her work in group shows including the Aichi Triennial in Nagoya, Japan (2016), Nouvelles Vagues at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris, France (2013), Anti-Establishment at Bard CCS Hessel Museum, NY (2012), the Young Artists’ Biennial, Bucharest, Romania (2010), Werkschauhalle Gallery, Leipzig, Germany (2008), the Michelangelo Pistoletto Foundation, Biella, Italy (2007), and Harvard University, Cambridge, MA (2011). Knight was a Spring 2015 Research and Development Artist in Residence at the New Museum and was a 2018 resident at the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire.
